Injuries

Hamstring and tendon tear in 2015 and minor knee operation in 2013. About 48 hours before 400m heat at Rio 2016 Olympic Games, came down with serious food poisoning but managed to qualify for semi-final. Big achievement to run 0.2sec off personal best. (Athlete, Nov 2017)

Reason: “I began athletics at age 11 and was quite a good cross-country runner. However, I didn’t enjoy it and therefore focused on tennis instead. I took up athletics again aged 15/16 and focused on the sprints and long jump. I didn’t move to the 400m until 2012.? (Athlete, Nov 2017)
Memorable: “The Rio 2016 Olympic Games 400m and 4x400m, plus London 2017 World Championships 4x400m final. I am also very proud of our European 4x400m gold in 2016, as that was my first lap of honour and top of the podium moment.? (Athlete, Nov 2017)
Hero: US sprinter Allyson FELIX and US tennis champion Serena WILLIAMS." (Athlete, Nov 2017)
Influence: Coach Jared DEACON (GBR). (Athlete, Nov 2017)

REMOTE COACHING
Began working with coach Jared Deacon in August 2015 despite his living in Scotland and her in south-west England. "Fortunately we are both very organised and have made it work. We are on the phone and Facetime all the time. One of the coaches here at Bath, James HILLIER, will film me doing blocks of training, then we send the footage straight across to Jared so he can give me instant feedback before I have to do my next rep." (bathchronicle.co.uk, 07 Jul 2016)
