COMING HOME
Born in California, grew up on the Gold Coast, where his British parents (mother from Manchester, father from Birmingham) moved when he was three. Generally trains and lives in Main Beach on Gold Coast during Australian summer. Growing up, he surfed each morning and represented Australia in schoolboy rugby. Trained alongside Sally PEARSON (AUS) and won an Australian junior high jump title. Has dual citizenship. (express.co.uk, 3 May 15; Athlete, Nov 17)

HOME GROUND
"It’s going to be a great experience competing back on the Gold Coast. It will be like going full circle in a way. My whole family was born in the UK, so I suppose it’s important for them that I compete for England/UK. Living there the last few years, I don’t really get the occasion to compete in front of my friends and family as much as I’d like. So I’m looking forward to it." (Athlete, Nov 17)

SOAP STAR
Sister Emma LANE plays the character Courtney Grixti in televison programme Neighbours. (Athlete, Nov 2017)
