Additional information

SO CLOSE
Father took her to first badminton match at age three and said to her, "One day you will be a great player, so good that you will bring back an Olympic gold for the country." (thestar.com.my, 17 Aug 2016)

NATIONAL FIRST
With CHAN Peng Soon, first Malaysians to compete in mixed doubles at an Olympic Games (London 2012); at Rio 2016, first Malaysians to claim an Olympic medal (silver) in mixed doubles. In 2017, first Malaysians in 62 years to reach mixed doubles final at the All England Championship. (nst.com.my, 18 Aug 2016; thestar.com.my, 12 Mar 2017)

MODEL
While rehabilitating from knee surgeries, took up modelling. "The healing process (after the surgery) took a long time. I diligently went for my rehabilitation program but still had time on my hands. I decided to try out something that I had been dreaming of since I was young – modelling. I had put this little dream of mine on the back burner because I lacked confidence. Now, the recovery period for my injury has turned out to be a blessing as I have graduated from the modelling academy. I'm sure it will be something for me to fall back on when my badminton career is over."
