GIRLS ON FILM
The Commonwealth Games holds a special place in the hearts of India's hockey fans. The women's team performed admirably at the 2002 Games in Manchester, defeating South Africa and New Zealand in two thrilling matches to make the final. Against the host nation England, another epic encounter saw a 3-2 victory for India, after extra time, and the gold medal. This win even inspired a Bollywood movie, Chak De India. India also took silver at the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games, but could only finish fifth at Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com)
