Hobbies:
Watching sport (Athlete, 6 Jun 2017)
Occupation: CEO Bowls Queensland (Twitter, 17 Mar 2017)
Languages spoken: English
Coach:
NATIONAL: Steve GLASSON (AUS) (worldbowls.com, 27 Mar 2017)
Reason: "Mother and father both played while I was growing up and I used to practise with them." (bowls.com.au, Jan 2017)
Ambition: Represent Australia and win a gold medal in front of his home crowd at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games. “The last two Games have been on foreign surfaces. India was slow and on carpet and Glasgow slow grass. I want to get picked because the chance to play in a home Games would be amazing in itself. (isaac.qld.gov.au, Jan 2017; Athlete, 6 Jun 2017; Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin, 23 Sep 2017)
Memorable: "Winning three world titles." (Athlete, 6 Jun 2017)
Hero: Swiss tennis player, Roger FEDERER. "He is a champion of his sport and a fantastic sportsman, on and off the court." (Athlete, 6 Jun 2017)
Influence: "My parents have always been there to support me." (Athlete, 6 Jun 2017)
EXPERIMENT
Participated in a La Trobe University (Melbourne) research project in 2017, aimed at working out how to deliver the perfect bowl. Was wired up while bowling, with the data analysed by La Trobe's biochemical researchers. (northernstar.com.au, 19 Apr 2017)
LIFESAVER
Donated his bone marrow to a young boy (Max WALTER) in Germany. Travelled there in 2012 to meet the boy and his family. "I donated early in 2008 and all I knew at that stage was that it was a little boy in Germany and he weighed 10kg. He would have been two. His issue was he had no immune system. He lived in a clinic and had to stay there all the time and his parents could only visit him. They couldn’t thank me enough. They got emotional and I got emotional. They said 'thank you so much, you’ve saved our boy’s life'. From all reports Max is doing good." (Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin, 23 Sep 2017)
VERY NICE
"At the world titles in 2012 in Adelaide, we (Australian players) had a boat cruise. We dressed up in something that started with our first or second initials. It was good team bonding. I went as Winnie the Pooh. But then late in the night I brought out the Borat costume for a quick lap around the boat. It didn’t hold too much in, so I had to wear a cricketer’s box. That was a bit of fun." (Weekend Gold Coast Bulletin, 23 Sep 2017)
