Nickname: "My friends just call me Ana." (World Rugby YouTube, 7 Apr 2016)
Coach

NATIONAL: Iliesa TANIVULA (NZL) (fijitimes.com, 5 Oct 2017)

Sporting relatives

Her father, Iosefa, represented Fiji in rugby and football. Her cousin, Rusila NAGASAU, represents Fiji in rugby sevens and competed at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. Her cousin, Benito MASILEVU, represented Fiji in rugby and plays professionally in France with CA Brive. (sportstg.com, 2 Feb 2016; fijitimes.com, 15 Nov 2015)

Reason: "Since I was a small girl, I always played rugby with my cousins, and my teachers would tell me to play netball and not rugby. I love netball too, but because I'm short, I don't want to play netball. At secondary school, I would play rugby with my school uniform and my parents would growl at me for coming home with my dirty uniform.â€? (fijitimes.com, 18 Dec 2016)
Influence: Former Fijian national coach Elenoa KUNATUBA (FIJ). “I was always a shy girl and when Noa named me captain, I was happy, but I told her I was shy and wouldn't be able to speak to the players. She continued to push me, saying I was one of her best players, so I started to believe in myself.â€? (fijitimes.com, 18 Dec 2016)
Additional information

FUTURE PLANS
Wants to pursue coaching after her rugby career. "I would like to take my love for the sport further, so I have been participating in some coaching courses." (foxsportspulse.com, 2 Feb 2016)

RUGBY PASSION
"My mum and dad weren't supportive when I started rugby. I was supposed to finish school, but ran away to Nadi because I wanted to play rugby, so I started doing things on my own. I used to ask some of my uncles and aunties to pay my fare. I kept pushing myself, and when I was selected for the 2011 Pacific Games, I wanted to prove to my parents that I am better in rugby than using pen and notebooks." (fijitimes.com, 18 Dec 2016)
