COMMONWEALTH GAMES
Fiji have an outstanding Commonwealth Games record, with two silver medals and a bronze, but are still to win gold. In the inaugural Games tournament at Kuala Lumpur 1998 they made it to the final, eventually losing 21-12 to New Zealand. This pattern continued at Manchester 2002, with the same two teams in the gold medal match. Fiji again fell short, losing 33-15. At Melbourne 2006, Fiji were defeated by England in the semifinals, but still made the podium, after defeating Australia 24-17 in the bronze medal match. (ur7s.com, 2017)
