ROBBERY
Her Order of Australia medal (OAM) was stolen from her grandmother’s house in July 2017. The thieves also took a necklace given to her by Swimming Australia patron, Gina RINEHART. "The OAM meant the most to me. All the hard work I did, and to suddenly find out it’s gone." (dailytelegraph.com.au, 20 Jul 2017)

BULLYING
Was at the centre of a bullying incident involving fellow students at Ravenswood School for Girls while on camp in 2015. The bullies allegedly shoved her in a cupboard and stripped her of her clothes. The ordeal drove her to qualify for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. "I think with what I've achieved, compared to what they have, I can show them, 'Don’t bother, it's not going to work,' They’re just the bad guys. Think of your own thing and push it out of your head." (dailymail.co.uk, 22 Apr 2016)
