FIRST
With partner Mouma DAS (IND), became the first table tennis players from India to reach the World Championships quarterfinals, in 2016, after their opponents in Dusseldorf withdrew. "I don't know what to even feel. It's just sad that our opponents could not play the match. But at the same time, I am so elated that we have created history for our country." (sportskeeda.com, 2 Jun 2017)
NOT CRICKET
Would love to see more coverage of table tennis in India. "Representing the country in a lesser-followed sport is challenging. Lack of coverage is one main issue. Even after we perform well, people focus more on how India is performing in cricket." (sportskeeda.com, 11 Feb 2016)
HOME STAY
Turned down a six-month scholarship to train at the Peter Karlsson Academy in Sweden in 2011. Missing school and travelling alone to Scandinavia did not appeal and she does not regret the decsion. "It's not that I stopped playing. I've worked equally hard here (in India) and have had good results." (indianexpress.com, 18 Dec 2015)
MODEL
Rejected numerous offers to model from various Indian and international brands as a teenager. (tadpoles.in, 9 Sep 2013)
