Additional information

After UK Sport cut British Weightlifting's funding, she got a job as a barista. "I'm just a coffee wench, working 8am until 6pm. The biggest impact is on my enthusiasm for training. The plus side is that because I'm on my feet all day, I've been losing weight without trying. This has taught me that I do actually value weightlifting. I might be the weightlifting barista now, but a weightlifter nonetheless." (, 20 May 2017)

At age 16, SMITH became the first Englishwoman to win a medal in weightlifting at a Commonwealth Games with her bronze at the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games. It was her first senior international competition. (, 6 Oct 2010)

SMITH - a two-time Commonwealth medallist - has been named as one of Commonwealth Games England's (CGE) 25 athlete ambassadors for the 2018 Games in Gold Coast, Australia. (, 11 Nov 2016)
