Injuries

Tore anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in training in 2014, putting her future wrestling career in question. (timesofindia.indiatime.com, 25 Feb 2018)

Reason: Began sports career with judo, but switched to wrestling in 2009 when her coach at the Hisar Wrestling Club, Kripa Shankar BISHNOI (IND), convinced her that her body type was better suited for wrestling. (timesofindia.indiatimes.com, 25 Feb 2018)
Additional information

DANGAL DISAPPOINTMENT
A knee injury in 2014, which denied her a chance to compete at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, may have also stopped her movie career. Read for a part in Dangal, a movie loosely based on the wrestling lives of sisters Geeta PHOGAT (IND) and Babita KUMARI (IND), and was among the shortlist, just before her training camp injury. (espn.in, 18 Jan 2018)

SUCCESSFUL RETURN
Joined the Punjab Royals for the beginning of the third season of India's Professional Wrestling League (PWL) in January 2018. Dropped her first bout to world silver medallist, Marwa AMRI (TUN), raising some concerns about her readiness to compete at a world-class level. But following a pep talk from Royals coach Kuldeep SINGH (IND), defeated reigning world and Olympic Games champion, Helen MAROULIS (USA), both in the league preliminaires and again in the championship playoffs.
